First Impressions - Just Cause 2

The Just Cause 2 demo just hit Xbox live marketplace and I rolled my eyes. I never played the first Just Cause game, and I never intend too, after reading reviews and watching several gameplay montages, it just never appealed to me, and Just Cause 2 has been pretty low on my radar (who can blame me? The amount of good games coming out early this year, you would think the world is ending soon or something). So I started to install the demo and decided I should play some MW2 while I wait. Uh oh, Just Cause 2 demo download stopped. I guess I won’t play some MW2 then, so instead I go get some lunch.

I come back to my Xbox after my lunch and the little “Just Cause 2 Demo Downloaded” thing pops up. Oh great, time to waste some time on another sandbox running, gunning and driving game. How dull.

Now Ryan Davies, a game journalist over at Giantbomb is adamant that this game will be good, and I gotta admit I respect what the guy says, so maybe I went into this first time hands on with the game a little more open than I would have been for the Dark Void demo, and thank god I actually did, because Just Cause 2 is a just cause for video games...

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360)

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a solid first person shooter with a great but brief Single Player campaign and an in depth, almost brilliant multiplayer.
If you were a fan of the first Bad Company, chances are you already own the game and don’t need to read this review, but if you weren’t completely charmed by Bad Company the first time around or you are still clinging to a certain other Modern War(fare) game, chances are you are waiting to see what all the fuss is about. Well, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has arrived and I am happy to say that this is a great game...

Aliens vs Predator (PC)

Well this is the first of what I am sure will be many reviews of games for PC, if all goes well, these will be posted once a week.

Well then, Alien vs Predator was hyped on a similar level to the Bible and so I for one was expecting something good, considering how much of an icon the originals were, despite laughably unconvincing graphics. I played the demo of the game and for one was very much surprised, at how much the producers clearly did not want people to buy the full version as who makes a demo that only plays in fucking multiplayer! Yes the multiplayer modes have potential to be fun but it’s not very appealing when all one can do is play the same fairly unexciting level over and over again in a basic deathmatch against a tiny amount of players half of whom couldn’t lag more if their computers were powered by the actions of crippled lepers suffering from fucking M.E.

Nevertheless, I strove past the poor demo and got the full version anyway, although not for full price, as I was intrigued enough to try it in the hope it would recreate the sheer awesomeness of the original...

How to get involved

1. Log onto your console.

2. Add the respective Zone 5 Gaming account. (For XBOX LIVE : Zone 5 Gaming --- For PSN : zone5gaming)

3. Send a message to that account with the message "MWM - GAME". (For example, if you wished to play Gears of War 2, you would send a message saying MWM - Gears Of War 2)

4. You will be sent an invite to the game.
